Valorant Refund Policy (2026): What You Can Refund, the 14-Day Rule and the Bundle Exception

Yes, you can refund a Valorant skin, but only if it is unused, still at base level and bought in the last 14 days. "Unused" ends the moment you reach a match loading screen with it equipped, in any mode, the Range and custom games included. Bundles can't be refunded at all, with one exception for pieces you bought on their own before you bought the bundle. That is Riot's policy as we read it on 13 Oct 2026.
Read on if you bought something in the last two weeks and haven't taken it into a game: the steps below get your VP back the same day. If the skin is 15 days old, upgraded with Radianite, or came in a bundle, there is no route back, so jump to the pre-purchase checklist instead. Everything here is checked against Riot's own VALORANT refund page and its global refund policy, not against older guides.
What you can refund
Riot's rule is one sentence: only unused in-game content and unused VP bought within the last 14 days are eligible. For weapon skins the self-service tool adds one more condition: the skin must still be at its base level. The matrix below lines every purchase type up against the two things that decide it, use and time. A refunded skin's VP returns to your balance; unspent VP bought with money can go back to your card, which is a separate request covered further down.
| # | Purchase | Unused, within 14 days | Used, upgraded or past 14 days | How it comes back |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| #1 | Single weapon skin, base level | Refundable | Not refundable | VP, via the self-service tool |
| #2 | Skin bought singly, bundle not yet bought | Refundable | Not refundable | VP, via the self-service tool |
| #3 | Skin levels and variants (Radianite) | Not refundable | Not refundable | None |
| #4 | Weapon skin bundle | Not refundable | Not refundable | None |
| #5 | Gun buddies, cards and other accessories | Riot lists only used ones as non-refundable | Not refundable | Ask Player Support |
| #6 | Unspent VP bought with money | Refundable | Not once spent | Money, via a ticket |
| #7 | Agents, Premium Battle Pass and levels | Not refundable | Not refundable | None |
| #8 | Radianite Points; Kingdom Credits buys | Not refundable | Not refundable | None |
| #9 | A gift you sent | Not refundable | Not refundable | Auto-refund if rejected or unclaimed for 60 days |
What “unused” really means
Riot defines it precisely: content counts as used once it's taken into a game, which means reaching the loading screen of a match in any mode with it equipped. Custom games and practice are named in the policy, so the Range is not a safe place to test a skin. You don't have to fire a shot or finish the match; the loading screen is the line. Riot's global refund policy says the same thing from the other side: for VALORANT, playing with or upgrading a gun skin counts as using it.
What doesn't count is everything before a match. Inspecting the skin in the store or your collection, and watching its animations in the preview, leave it unused. The practical habit is to unequip a new skin until you're sure, because an equipped skin goes into the next queue automatically. A skin that loaded into a custom game for ten seconds is as used as one you've played a hundred rounds with.
Bundles and the buy-singles-first exception
Bundles are non-refundable, full stop. The exception runs the other way: if you buy single items from a bundle's page and later decide to buy the whole bundle, Riot will refund those singles as long as they're unused, not upgraded, and you haven't bought the bundle yet. Once the bundle goes through, the singles you bought earlier are locked too. Riot adds that an item which comes free in a full bundle won't reduce the bundle's price if you buy it on its own first.
That last line is where real VP goes missing, and the melee is the usual culprit. A standard Premium bundle is 7,100 VP for four guns at 1,775 VP each, with the melee thrown in; that melee costs 3,550 VP alone, according to the VALORANT wiki's store table. Buy the knife first, then the bundle, and you've paid 10,650 VP for what the bundle alone gives you for 7,100. If the knife is unused and inside 14 days, refund it before you click Buy Bundle. Items that are discounted inside a bundle work differently: owning one lowers the bundle price only by its in-bundle cost, shown on the Buy Bundle confirmation screen.
Prices for each bundle tier, and what a bundle includes, are in our VP and bundles explainer.
What you cannot refund
Riot's list of non-refundable purchases is longer than most guides print. As of 13 Oct 2026 it reads:
- Used weapon skins, and any upgraded weapon skin.
- Weapon skin levels and variants, the Radianite unlocks.
- Weapon skin bundles.
- Used accessories: gun buddies, player cards and the like.
- Agents, Premium Battle Passes and Premium Battle Pass levels.
- Radianite Points, and anything bought with Kingdom Credits (agent gear, the Accessories Store).
- Gifts you've sent, unless the gift sits unclaimed for 60 days, in which case it is refunded to you.
One rule on that page catches people who think they're eligible: a pending gift blocks every refund on your account. If you've sent a skin to a friend and they haven't accepted it yet, the refund tool won't process anything else until they claim or reject it. Gifting itself has its own limits, ten gifts a day and level 15 for the sender, which we cover in can you trade or gift Valorant skins.
Refunding real-money VP
Unspent VP is refundable in cash for 14 days, through a Player Support ticket rather than the self-service button. Riot's global policy sets the conditions: the money goes back only to the payment method you used, and only if that method can take a refund. Cards and PayPal can; gift cards and prepaid cards can't, though Riot says it may refund an equivalent amount of VP instead. VP bought through a console store or a mobile store is that platform's to refund, under its own rules.
A chargeback is the expensive way to get money back. Riot's global policy treats one as grounds to suspend the account until the amount is repaid, and multiple chargebacks as grounds for a permanent ban. VALORANT has its own rules for chargebacks after 4 June 2024, per Riot's chargebacks support page: the system claws the balance back from your current VP and from skins, agents and other items bought with VP, and anything removed stays gone even after you repay. A charged-back gift costs both sender and recipient their gifting ability, and an account left with a negative balance can still play but can't buy anything with VP.
If you top up with a reseller code instead of a card, such as the VP cards on Eneba, treat the VP as final once redeemed: a prepaid code is exactly the payment type Riot can't refund as cash, and the reseller's own refund terms apply to the code itself.
How to refund a Valorant skin
For a skin, the whole process takes a minute if it qualifies:
- Clear any pending gift first; one outstanding gift blocks all refunds.
- Open the VALORANT "How to request a refund" page on Riot's support site.
- Log in with the Riot account that made the purchase; the page lists only purchases that are eligible.
- Pick the skin and confirm. The VP returns right away.
- If the button doesn't work, or you want unspent VP back as money, submit a ticket to Player Support instead.
If nothing shows as eligible, one of the conditions has already failed: the skin has reached a loading screen, been upgraded, come from a bundle, or passed 14 days. Check you're signed in to the account and region that bought it, since the list only reflects the account you're logged into.
Edge cases the tool doesn't explain
Several situations come up in support threads more than in guides. Riot's VALORANT page sets no cap on how many refunds an account can make; the 90-day refund tokens people quote belong to League of Legends, not VALORANT. A purchase a child or another family member made without permission isn't handled by the button: Riot asks you to contact Player Support so it can investigate. Riot also keeps the right to refund content itself, for example when an item turns out to be bugged; those "Riot Returns" are applied automatically to everyone affected.
A skin that arrived as a gift isn't yours to refund either, because Riot treats gifts as non-refundable. Your friend's only lever is to reject the gift before accepting it, which sends the VP back to the sender. And none of this changes how a skin works in play: refunded or not, skins are cosmetic only.
A checklist before you buy a skin
Because the window is narrow, the cheapest refund is the one you never need. Four habits keep you inside the rules:
- Inspect the skin in the store; don't equip it and queue a custom game to "try it".
- Decide before spending Radianite. One upgrade ends the refund option for that skin.
- Want the melee and the rest of the line? Buy the bundle first, or refund the melee before you buy it.
- Note the purchase date. The clock runs from the transaction, not from your first match.
Prices for every skin by weapon and edition are on our Valorant weapon skins catalogue, dated so you know what you're paying before the clock starts.
Frequently asked questions
Can you refund Valorant skins?
Yes, if the skin is unused, still base level and bought within the last 14 days, per Riot's policy read 13 Oct 2026. Riot's self-service tool returns the VP right away. Used, upgraded and bundle skins can't be refunded.
Does the practice range count as using a skin?
Yes. Riot counts a skin as used once you reach the loading screen of a match in any mode with it equipped, and it names custom games and practice. Inspecting it in the store doesn't count.
Can you refund a Valorant bundle?
No. Bundles are non-refundable. Items you bought singly can be refunded only if they're unused and you haven't bought the bundle yet; once you buy it, those singles lock too.
How long do you have to refund VP?
Fourteen days from purchase, and only if the VP hasn't been spent. Riot handles cash refunds of VP through a Player Support ticket, back to the original payment method where it can take refunds.
How many refunds do you get in Valorant?
Riot's VALORANT refund page sets no per-account limit; every purchase is judged on the 14-day, unused rule. The 90-day refund tokens often quoted are a League of Legends system.
